{"id":164,"date":"2017-07-26T15:38:43","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T15:38:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/courses.lumenlearning.com\/atd-clinton-publicspeaking\/?post_type=chapter&#038;p=164"},"modified":"2017-07-26T15:42:04","modified_gmt":"2017-07-26T15:42:04","slug":"mid-term-test-instructions","status":"publish","type":"chapter","link":"https:\/\/courses.lumenlearning.com\/atd-clinton-publicspeaking\/chapter\/mid-term-test-instructions\/","title":{"raw":"Mid-Term Test Instructions","rendered":"Mid-Term Test Instructions"},"content":{"raw":"<div class=\"box generalbox center clearfix\">\r\n<div class=\"no-overflow\">\r\n\r\nWe have reached the half way point in our work together this semester.\u00a0 This week will be a great opportunity for you to \"show what you know.\"\u00a0Exciting for me is to see what you have learned these past weeks from our reading,\u00a0discussions and coursework.\r\n\r\nSo,\u00a0get a game plan together for reviewing reading and lecture\/discussion notes,\u00a0and when you are ready this week, \u00a0clear two hours of uninterrupted\u00a0time to take the midterm test.\u00a0 Breathe!\u00a0 I think you will comfortably complete the test in less than two hours, but I do not wish time on the clock to distract you.\u00a0 This means be kind to yourself.\u00a0 Do not schedule important appointments immediately\u00a0before or after you plan to take the test. \u00a0Once you start, you may not log out and return to the test. \u00a0It really is the same as taking an on campus exam except that you pick the day and window of time that is best for you. \u00a0\u00a0Also, create a test taking environment where you are not distracted or interrupted by other people in your life. \u00a0May wish to visually have a sign displayed that \" test is in progress\" or \"please do not disturb....testing\" \u00a0 .\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Best wishes to you for a successful test!\u00a0 Good news is that you will not find it tricky or picky. \u00a0You will find it rewarding that doing the required text and lecture reading and participating actively in discussions and coursework has been great preparation for this test. \u00a0You have the week to review, because it has been several weeks since we talked about some of the vocabulary of the course.\r\n\r\nYour grade on the test will post once the due date hits and\u00a0 I complete grading all the tests. \u00a0This enables me to complete a diagnostic of the test and determine that my questions were properly worded and not misleading or confusing. \u00a0If a question flags because too many students are getting the answer wrong, I simply throw out the question and am known to give extra credit points for causing undue stress. \u00a0It doesn't happen often, but I as I try out new questions, it is always a possibility.\r\n\r\nThe midterm test is the last point value entered to determine your midterm progress grade reported to the college. \u00a0<span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">Remember your MID-TERM GRADE reflects all the points you have earned since the start of the Icebreaker\u00a0Module up to and including the Midterm Test. \u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nOk.
