\r\n\r\nWhat's wrong with this sentence:\u00a0The ball was hit by Joe?<\/i>\u00a0The ball, in this case, is not doing anything. John is the person performing the action of hitting the ball. If it wasn't for John, the ball would have reached the catcher's mitt, and John might have struck out. The reader loses identity with the most important part of a sentence in the passive voice: the subject.\r\n\r\nTry improving the following sentences by changing them to active voice.
