From there they traveled to America in search of a geography that felt like Russia. Many of them came to upstate New York. A few miles from here you can find some of the most beautiful Byzantine artworks. I find it fascinating that they are connected to the fall of Rome, and the Emperor Constantine's move to Byzantium, which he renamed Constantinople.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Drive up to the main buildings, and you will see perfect examples of the glory of Byzantine icons.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\">If you are a woman, do not wear pants; and you might even consider a scarf to act as a head covering. We are talking about the middle ages here.
