Some groups are disproportionately affected by STDs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adolescents and Young Adults<\/li>\n<li>Gay, Bisexual, &amp; other Men who have Sex with Men<\/li>\n<li>Some Racial and Ethnic Minorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Good News: STDs ARE preventable. There are steps you can take to keep yourself and your partner(s) healthy.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s How You Can Avoid (or reduce the risk of) Giving or Getting an STD:<\/p>\n<h2>Practice Abstinence<\/h2>\n<p>The surest way to avoid STDs is to not have sex. &nbsp;This means not having vaginal, oral, or anal sex.<\/p>\n<h2>Use Condoms<img class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/courses-images\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/617\/2018\/06\/25162251\/use_condom.jpg\" alt=\"condom\" width=\"111\" height=\"257\"><\/h2>\n<p>Using a condom correctly every time you have sex can help you avoid STDs.
