VLOOKUP<\/b> is one of the lookup and reference functions, when you need to find things in a table or a range by row.\u00a0 <\/span>For example, use VLOOKUP to find a price of an automotive part or the letter grade of a final average.<\/p>\r\n

VLOOKUP location<\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span>Click FORMULA<\/b> tab, Lookup and Reference<\/b> icon in the Function Library<\/b> group. Find VLOOKUP option at the bottom of the list.<\/p>\r\n

VLOOKUP argument box<\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span>When you click on VLOOKUP, an argument box appears like the one below:<\/p>\r\n

Taking one box at a time:<\/p>\r\n

Lookup Value:\u00a0 <\/span>The value you want to look up.<\/p>\r\n

Table array. The column number in the range that contains the return value.<\/p>\r\n

Col Index num (meaning Column Index Number)<\/p>\r\n

Range Lookup:\u00a0 <\/span>We do not need to use this box<\/p>\r\n
