(These additional features are described below.)<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Title Bar<\/b> Located at the very top of the window, this feature shows the name of the document<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>and type.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When you save a document, the name of that document will display in this area.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Quick Access Toolbar <\/b>: Puts commonly used commands such as Save, Undo on a permanently visible tollbar.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is located in the top left corner of the window.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Ribbon<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is the area below the Title Bar and the Quick Access Toolbar that contains <b>tabs<\/b>, <b>groups<\/b> and some galleries.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Tabs <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Tab names appear above the top of the Ribbon.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Each tab name introduces a new Ribbon. The tabs are single words that are all uppercase.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When the tab is active, a thin line appears on the top and down both sides of the tab name.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Groups <\/b>. As each tab is selected, related commands appear in the ribbon and are arranged in groups.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Each group has a name which is show within the vertical line marks.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>For example. class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As the mouse is moved around the Spreadsheet Window, the mouse takes on different pointer shapes and directions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Zoom Slider<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>In the lower right hand corner on the blue bar, there is a horizontal line with a minus on the left side and a plus on the right side.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>To the right of this horizontal line is a percentage notation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In the center of the horizontal line is a small rectangular box.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When you put your mouse pointer on this rectangular box and move it to the right, the print on your screen enlarges (and the percentage will increase).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Moving the rectangular box to the left, reduces the size of the screen (and the percentage will lower).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This operation is called <span class=\"s1\">Zooming<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">In<\/span> or <span class=\"s1\">Zooming<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">Out<\/span>. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This feature allows you to better view a portion of your worksheet making the font easier to see without changing the actual font size (Zooming Out).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Additionally, to see the entire screen if the more columns have information in them than what appears in the given window, you can reduce the size of the screen (Zooming In).<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Worksheet Window<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This contains a grid of columns and rows.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The worksheet window of a spreadsheet can contain a total of 1,049,576 rows and 16,348 rows (See information about columns and rows below).<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Columns<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Below the ribbon are columns which are labeled A, B, C, etc. and then start again with AA, BB, CC, etc. and continue on.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A column letter is one indicator where you are on the spreadsheet.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Rows<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Along the left side each row is labeled with a number.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This number is the second indicator of where you are on the spread sheet. .<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Cell <\/b>This is the intersection of a row and column.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>For example A1 would be the intersection of column A and row 1.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Cells can contain text, numbers, formulas, or a combination of all three.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Cell Pointer<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A dark rectangle that outlines the cell you are working in.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Also called the <b>Active Cell.<\/b><\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Cell address <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The location of the intersecting rows and columns.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Name Box .<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>This feature is located under the ribbon on the far left side of the screen and above the column label indicates the position of the mouse pointer.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It will record the cell address in this box.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Formula Bar <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Moving to the right of the Name Box, there is a bar with an \u201cX:, a checkmark, and the letters \u201cfx\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>(more on this bar later.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>However, the next clear bar is called the formula bar.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Formulas put into the work sheet will appear here if the cell that contains the formula is active.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Sheet tabs <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>These are found at the bottom of the worksheet grid. (It is a tab that says \u201cSheet 1.\u201d)<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>More sheets can be added as needed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>You can switch from one sheet to another in a workbook.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>By default, a workbook file contains one worksheet, but you can have as many as 255 sheets in a workbook.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Scroll Bars <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>These allow you to move around in a worksheet that is too large to fit on the screen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The horizontal scroll bar is located above the zoom slider.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The vertical scroll bar is to the extreme right of the worksheet grid.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Status Bar <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This bar is located to the right and on the same bar as the zoom slider.<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Mode Indicator <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This feature is located in the lower-left corner of the status bar and provides additional information about certain tasks.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When a worksheet is first opened, the mode indicator indicates \u201cREADY.\u201d<\/li>\r\n \t<li class=\"li1\"><b>Range <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>If you click and hold the mouse button and drag it down, then release the mouse button, you have selected a range.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>For example, if you click in cell B1 and continue to hold down the mouse button to B14, you have selected a range.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When a range is selected, the status bar displays \u201caverage\u201d, \u201ccount\u201d (or number of items selected), and\u201d sum\u201d of the selected cells as a quick reference. takes on different pointer shapes and directions.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Zoom Slider<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>In the lower right hand corner on the blue bar, there is a horizontal line with a minus on the left side and a plus on the right side.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>To the right of this horizontal line is a percentage notation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In the center of the horizontal line is a small rectangular box.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When you put your mouse pointer on this rectangular box and move it to the right, the print on your screen enlarges (and the percentage will increase).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Moving the rectangular box to the left, reduces the size of the screen (and the percentage will lower).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This operation is called <span class=\"s1\">Zooming<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">In<\/span> or <span class=\"s1\">Zooming<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">Out<\/span>. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This feature allows you to better view a portion of your worksheet making the font easier to see without changing the actual font size (Zooming Out).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Additionally, to see the entire screen if the more columns have information in them than what appears in the given window, you can reduce the size of the screen (Zooming In).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Worksheet Window<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This contains a grid of columns and rows.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The worksheet window of a spreadsheet can contain a total of 1,049,576 rows and 16,348 rows (See information about columns and rows below).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Columns<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Below the ribbon are columns which are labeled A, B, C, etc. and then start again with AA, BB, CC, etc. and continue on.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A column letter is one indicator where you are on the spreadsheet.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Rows<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Along the left side each row is labeled with a number.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This number is the second indicator of where you are on the spread sheet. .<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Cell <\/b>This is the intersection of a row and column.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>For example A1 would be the intersection of column A and row 1.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Cells can contain text, numbers, formulas, or a combination of all three.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Cell Pointer<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A dark rectangle that outlines the cell you are working in.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Also called the <b>Active Cell.<\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Cell address <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The location of the intersecting rows and columns.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Name Box .<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>This feature is located under the ribbon on the far left side of the screen and above the column label indicates the position of the mouse pointer.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It will record the cell address in this box.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Formula Bar <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Moving to the right of the Name Box, there is a bar with an \u201cX:, a checkmark, and the letters \u201cfx\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>(more on this bar later.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>However, the next clear bar is called the formula bar.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Formulas put into the work sheet will appear here if the cell that contains the formula is active.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Sheet tabs <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>These are found at the bottom of the worksheet grid. (It is a tab that says \u201cSheet 1.\u201d)<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>More sheets can be added as needed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>You can switch from one sheet to another in a workbook.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>By default, a workbook file contains one worksheet, but you can have as many as 255 sheets in a workbook.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Scroll Bars <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>These allow you to move around in a worksheet that is too large to fit on the screen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The horizontal scroll bar is located above the zoom slider.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The vertical scroll bar is to the extreme right of the worksheet grid.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Status Bar <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This bar is located to the right and on the same bar as the zoom slider.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Mode Indicator <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This feature is located in the lower-left corner of the status bar and provides additional information about certain tasks.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When a worksheet is first opened, the mode indicator indicates \u201cREADY.\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>Range <\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>If you click and hold the mouse button and drag it down, then release the mouse button, you have selected a range.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>For example, if you click in cell B1 and continue to hold down the mouse button to B14, you have selected a range.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>When a range is selected, the status bar displays \u201caverage\u201d, \u201ccount\u201d (or number of items selected), and\u201d sum\u201d of the selected cells as a quick reference.
