Pacing

The Calculus III textbook contains seven modules — roughly two to two and a half weeks per module for a sixteen-week semester.

If your institution covers parametric equations in Calculus II, or briefly introduces parametric equations during Calculus II:

  • Module 1: Parametric Equations and Polar Coordinates can be skipped, or taught for only a few sections

If you need to modify the pace and cover the material more quickly:

  • Module 2: Applications of Integration and Module 3: Techniques of Integration can be taught more quickly, within two weeks, leaving more time to cover other modules.

If your institution does not cover second-order differential equations in Calculus III, or only briefly introduces parametric equations during Calculus III:

  • Module 7: Second-Order Differential Equations can be skipped, or taught for only a few sections
