This week’s lab is an introduction to organic chemistry. Students will learn to classify, name, and draw structures for organic compounds. Functional groups will be identified and discussed in order of priority.
Objectives: After completing this week’s assignments you will be able to:
- Classify organic compounds based on formula and structure.
- Determine the IUPAC name of organic compounds.
- Draw complete, condensed and line-angle structures of common organic compounds.
