Safety and General Lab Practices

  • Explain general laboratory practices related to safety, container labeling, chemical disposal and insttrument opperation.

Antacid Analysis

  • Evaluate the chemical reaction between an acid and base.
  • Answer questions similar to prelab 2-3, postlab 1-2.

Organic Nomenclature

  • Name, draw and identify functional groups for alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, esters, ethers, carboxylic acids, and amines.

Graphing Lab

  • Identify the main components of a graph.
  • Create a graph given experimental data.
  • Calculate the slope.

Spectroscopy

  • Define and use Beer’s Law or a trendline to evaluate solution concentration.

Colligative Properties

  • Determine the molar mass of a nonvolatile, nonionizing solute given experimental data.

  • Write the rate law for a reaction.

Equilibrium

  • Determine the equilibrium expression for a chemical equation.
