This week’s lab is based on equilibrium. Students will use a series of standard solutions to create a graph of absorbance vs. concentration for a specific reaction. The graph will be used to calculate the equilibrium concentrations and the equilibrium constant for a reaction. Le Chatlier’s Principle will also be investigated.
Objectives: After completing this week’s assignments you will be able to:
- Create a standard curve using a spectrophotometer.
- Calculate the equilibrium constant, K, for the formation of the complex Fe(SCN)2+
