If it gets on your skin, flush with copious amounts of water andinform your instructor.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>HCl is a strong acid. If you get any on your skin flush the area immediately with water andinform your instructor.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Take care when heating the solution that it does not splatter or boil. Allow the solution to coolon a hot pad or other appropriate surface. NEVER put hot glassware on a cold counter.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Use appropriate equipment to handle acids, bases, and hot glassware.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Make sure you properly label (chemical name, concentration, date prepared &amp; initials ofpreparer) all prepared solutions with labeling tape and sharpie even if you will be disposing of\u00a0solutions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>All liquid waste must be disposed of in the CHM 112 waste container in the back hood.
