What you\u2019ll learn to do:\u00a0identify the types of planning managers engage in and how these relate to the achievement of organizational goals<\/h2>\r\n\"Photo<\/a>\r\n\r\nIn this module we will explore not just the importance of planning, but the different types of planning and plans that managers are responsible for within the organization. Many of the managers'\u00a0planning activities are established\u00a0during the early stages of an organization through its\u00a0business plan. The business plan provides the foundation for planning activities, but as the business grows and develops it's the manager's responsibility to adapt and take the plans to the next level. \u00a0A business without solid strategic, operational, and contingency plans will have a hard time meeting its organizational goals\u2014unless it intends\u00a0to survive by luck alone.\r\n\r\nIn this section we'll see what effective planning looks like from the manager's perspective.\r\n
