Health care professionals are held to high ethical and legal standards.  The public is trusting those working in health care to keep them safe and provide high quality services.  Professional ethics guide our practice.  In this session, we will discuss the basic principles of medical ethics and professionalism.

Privacy is an important topic to discuss, both from a legal and ethical standpoint.  We have the obligation to maintain our clients’ privacy and protect their health information at all times.  Social media has added another element to this discussion.  What is acceptable to share online about your work?

For this session, all of your readings are in Blackboard.  There is not a Lumen chapter for this session.
