Part #1
In Module 2 we discussed Netiquette.
In this Discussion Board assignment, you will use the Lumen section “Assessment: Using Email Netiquette” to complete the journal.
Read the sample email and answer the questions at the end of the section.
- What rules of netiquette does the student violate in this email?
- If you were the instructor, how might you react to this email? What questions would you have about it?
- Why do you feel it is important to follow the Netiquette rules, especially in a professional student or working environment?
Part #2
As we have learned, employers value soft skills as being just as important as the hard skills necessary to do a job. Please select a few of the following questions to discuss in your Discussion Board initial post: In your desired health care career, what are some of the required hard, technical or knowledge-based, skills that are needed to be successful at the job? What types of soft-skills do you feel will be necessary to be successful in the field?
Has there been a personal experience in your life in which you have encountered a health-care professional who lacked soft skills? How did this encounter make you feel? What did you take away from the experience that can impact your own practice as a professional?
Responses can be typed in Microsoft Word and then pasted into the IvyLearn discussion board, or simply type it in the Discussion Board. Click “reply” to start your own entry/post in the discussion board, then click “post” to submit the response. This is due by Wednesday at midnight. Make sure you reply to at least two other class members posts by Sunday at midnight. Your replies need to be at least 3-4 sentences in length. For example, indicate whether you agree or disagree with their opinion, have something in common or made a connection to their posting. Replies must be respectful and well thought out. Be sure your peer responses further the discussion in some way and do not just simply state whether you agree or disagree.
