In this session, we take some time to self reflect on our progress. What is working for us at this point in the semester? What adjustments do we need to make? How can we continue to build our academic support network? Have you taken time to familiarize yourself with the Ivy Tech website? What about MyIvy? Taking the time to explore on our own for our own benefit and learning often times is a dividing line of the type of student we are versus the type of student we want to be. Do you go beyond the basic requirements to push yourself or do you do just enough to get by? This session’s discussion board asks us to take an honest look at our time usage in terms of academics again and the effort we are putting out. Do we need help? Are we being assertive in our communication? Are we able to see how a give and take relationship can benefit us? Sometimes we give and give without knowing the impact it has on others, in the long run hopefully we get something out of it too even if it is an unexpected reaction. Many times the best gifts are those we don’t expect to receive. These are often a result of us giving of ourselves in some way. In this video we can see the immediate effect the family has on the dog, Faith, but we also see the gift that Faith was for the family. They got just as much from this relationship, if not more.
