The Ivy Tech Virtual Library has developed Lib Guides for students.\u00a0 In Campus Connect, click on the Library tab, under the Help tab is a link to these guides.\u00a0 There is a wide range of courses and topics with library guides. \u00a0Organizing Material often times begins with organizing one's time. \u00a0 For example, check out the Ivy Tech Student Skills Guide under Academic Skills on the Central Indiana Library link, specifically the tab devoted to organizing study materials.\u00a0 Lib Guides are a great way to supplement your course work.<\/span><\/p>\r\nhttp:\/\/www.ivytech.edu\/library\/<\/a><\/span>\r\n\r\nAnother academic skill that comes up when managing our time is test prep.\u00a0 Often times we do not give ourselves enough time to absorb the new information.\u00a0 Remember back to chapter one and the reading on how our brain works using CORE.\u00a0 The better quality of our processing the more we review (quantity of processing) the better the results.\u00a0 If we wait and cram we may retain the information for a short amount of time - to get through a test perhaps.\u00a0 But it doesn't stick with us.\u00a0 If we give ourselves enough time to read and review we can find a way to connect it to prior knowledge.\u00a0 If we have time to do so (starting to study while the test is in quadrant II) we are setting ourselves up for more potential success.\u00a0 Here are some links to\u00a0various college websites that have\u00a0help about memorization methods, this too has been gathered from the Central Indiana Virtual Library Student Success lib guide.\u00a0 These guides already reviewed by our very own media specialists and librarians are a great resource.<\/span>\r\n
