In order to save their crops, they introduced Cane Toads, a common predator of the offending beetle.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/courses-images\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2302\/2017\/04\/30182856\/Cane_toad_-_ABC_News.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15779\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/courses-images\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2302\/2017\/04\/30182856\/Cane_toad_-_ABC_News.jpg\" alt=\"Image of a tan patterned can toad from the side.\" width=\"649\" height=\"433\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\n80 cane toads were brought to Northern Australia in 1935.\r\n\r\nHowever, because the cane toads reproduce exponentially, they quickly became an invasive species.
