Module 5 Discussion: Punctuation Poster Assignment

STEP 1: Review this module and pick one punctuation or grammatical topic you find most interesting, relevant, or useful to your own life. This could be proper end punctuation, hyphens, dashes, parenthesis, brackets, ellipses, apostrophes, quotation marks, commas, semicolons, colons, fragments, or run-ons. Review this topic.

STEP 2: Create a poster or infographic that addresses the punctuation or grammar concept you selected. This can be done as a powerpoint slide, or using a program of your choice, such as  Canva, or Easelly. Include appropriate citations and references in your poster.

  • Your poster must include at least three good examples of your chosen concept and at least one bad example. These should be original examples, created by you.
  • Your poster must include at least two images or pictures.

STEP 3: Next, share your creation with the world so that others can benefit from your work! Using either Flickr or Wikimedia Commons, upload your finished product and publish it so that other English instructors and students can use and reference your work. Although not required, we strongly recommend uploading and releasing your work with a Creative Commons license.

STEP 4: Post the link to your finished poster to the discussion forum. Add in a paragraph about what you learned from the assignment and how you plan to improve your writing moving forward while being more aware of the concept you chose.

STEP 5: Respond in two separate posts to two classmates (in at least 75 words). Explicitly address their examples and try to extend, complicate, or redirect their points in a substantive, knowledge-demonstrating way. Be sure to cite relevant concepts and key terms from the reading.
