That\u2019s why we talk about readability in relation to these sorts of mistakes: these errors make your writing less readable. They also can take away from your ability to achieve whatever purpose you have for your writing: gaining a job interview (with a cover letter) or convincing someone of your argument (with a piece of persuasive writing).\r\n\r\nMost students lack the resources to pay professionals to check their work, so they have their friends and peers review their writing. You probably also have access to a campus writing center. You should use both of these resources to check your writing for mistakes; it\u2019s worth your extra effort to try to produce as nearly perfect writing as you can!\r\n\r\nThe following writing workshop will allow you some extra practice at some of the most tricky issues we\u2019ve covered in this module: commas, fragments, and run-ons. Before we get to those, however, we are going to do some review of the concept of the sentence. While it may seem simple enough, sometimes our understanding of what a sentence is can be a little fuzzy. Once you review and master the sentence, all the other issues (commas, fragments, and run-ons) will fall into place much more easily.\r\n<div class=\"textbox exercises\">\r\n<h3>Writing Workshop: Your Working Document<\/h3>\r\nEvery component of the working document will be introduced throughout this module in a blue box such as this one.\u00a0<strong>Open your working document now and keep it open as you progress through the module<\/strong>.\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Go to the assignment for this module in your LMS.
