What you’ll learn to do: Given known standard deviations of two population proportions, conduct a hypothesis test and interpret the conclusion
People text more to communicate than they did in the early 2000’s. However, some people still use their phones to call people. Do a higher proportion of people who identify as females use their phones to call people than people who identify as males? To answer this question, we could conduct a hypothesis test to compare two independent population proportions.
