What you’ll learn to do: understand percentiles and quartiles of data
Many basketball players are often in the 90th percentile for height. This means that they are much taller than the average person. Understanding where values fall relative to a data set lets us know if values are larger or smaller than typical. Percentiles, specifically quartiles, can be used to help identify values that are very unusual or are outliers.
