What you’ll learn to do: Understand how to conduct a hypothesis test of two variances and what the conclusion means
In order to have bus schedules run smoothly, we can’t have bus arrival times at bus stops varying greatly. It might be useful to compare the variability (or variances) for the distribution of times it takes for busses to complete their routes. A hypothesis test that compares variances for two populations is another application of the F-distribution.
