The Introduction to Statistics textbook contains thirteen modules — roughly one week per module for a sixteen-week semester. If you need to modify the pace, the following information may help.

We recommend spending more time on the following modules:

  • Module 5: Continuous Random Variables
  • Module 6: The Normal Distribution

These modules are critical for students to understand the concepts covered in

  • Module 7: The Central Limit Theorem
  • Module 8: Confidence Intervals
  • Module 9: Hypothesis Testing with One Sample
  • Module 10: Hypothesis Testing With Two Samples

The following modules are considered more advanced topics and some schools cover them as part of a second semester of statistics. These modules can be removed from this course if needed to spend more time on other sections.

  • Module 10: Hypothesis Testing With Two Samples
  • Module 11: The Chi Square Distribution
  • Module 13: F-Distribution and the One-Way ANOVA
