How do electric circuits work? What is Alternating Current? What is the difference between Amps, Watts, Volts and Joules? How do electric circuits work? All these questions, and more, will be answered in this class module.
Overview
This module will cover the basics of electricity. Topics included in this chapter that we will cover are, basic electric fields, types of currents and their effect on matter. We will also discuss electric currents and electromagnetism.
Moudle 6 Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Solve elementary problems involving electricity and electromagnetism.
- State Faraday’s Law
- Given input and output voltages, show what happens to the output if the input is doubled.
- Calculate the resistance in a circuit.
Content
This module will take a look at the basics of electricity. It will link the importance of those basics to our daily lives. Topics of electric fields and electromagnetism will be discussed, as well as taking a look at the terminology of electricity.
