- a gravitational force due to an object’s interaction with the Earth’s gravitational field
- normal and friction components of a contact force due to the object being in contact with a surface
- a tension force due to the object being pulled by a rope, string, cable, etc.
- an applied force due to the object being pushed by something else
- For a particular force, identify the following:
- the two objects interacting to generate the force,
- which object the force is exerted on, and
- which object the force is exerted by.
