Fundamentally, introductory level physics is about solving problems that describe a physical situation. For the vast majority of the problems you will be assigned as part of the course, you will be given a work problem that you need to decipher to set up a set of equations to solve. Particularly with vector problems, you will often need to use one or more of the trigonometric relations to set up your equations. Once you have set up your equations, you will often use substitution to solve for the unknown quantities in the problem. Although it doesn’t seem much like physics, being comfortable with the material in this module will be critical for your success in this course.
