Instructor Guide 2C: Corequisite Support

While this support activity is designed for a face-to-face, synchronous delivery, it should be noted that supporting text and interactive examples have been embedded in the digital assignment page to assist asynchronous or hybrid course delivery and to be made more accessible to students performing make-up work.

Notes for synchronous active-learning delivery

The purpose of this corequisite support activity is to ensure students are comfortable with methods for measuring and recording both qualitative and quantitative variables.

The in-class activity asks students to design an experiment, so students will need to create a plan for the variables in their studies.

In this support activity, students may mistakenly believe that only quantitative variables can be used in an experiment or that only certain types of variables can be used as explanatory or response variables.
