Ensure each group or pair has access to the tool.<\/li>\r\n \t<li aria-level=\"1\">Ask Question 1 and allow students some time to reflect and share.<\/li>\r\n \t<li aria-level=\"1\">Point out that one of the variables that will be the focus of the activity,\u00a0<em>Poor Sleep Quality Score,<\/em>\u00a0is given as a numerical value telling us about the individual's quality of sleep; a larger score indicates a worse quality of sleep.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Activity Flow (18 minutes)<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Have students work in pairs or groups to address Question 2 before reconvening as a class to discuss what they found and to address any\u00a0concerns.<\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Students will continue in pairs or groups to complete the activity.<\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Students may struggle to estimate the values in question 6 since the means are relatively close for each of the groups. Encourage them to communicate exactly\u00a0<em>why<\/em> they feel estimating the values is a challenge.\u00a0What is it about the\u00a0distributions (e.g., shape, spread) that makes it so challenging to\u00a0estimate the mean?<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Wrap-up\/transition (5 minutes)<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>At the end of the activity, ask students to reflect back to their\u00a0responses to the open-ended question at the beginning of the\u00a0activity.
