So, there you have it, the basics of where our law has come from and is still coming from.

“The Law” that governs your business and resolves your business disputes consists of an ever growing, ever evolving and always interconnected body of statutes, court decisions, regulations, treaties and constitutional articles.  No one judge, lawyer or legal scholar truly completely understands the law and what its effects or consequences are and will be.  This much is clear however, the more and better you understand the basics of law the better equipped you will be to be successful in business and in life.

The volume of law and its complexity is staggering.  To help you appreciate the importance of understanding even just the basics of the law and the sources it comes from, you were asked to ponder a series of questions concerning; “ Just how many laws are there anyways”?  So, what are your answers to those questions?  Note and record them for yourself, for your own education. Your education, is really more about questions than answers.  Once questions are answered, more questions arise.  Here’s a few more to ponder as you continue through this course.

• Does the number and complexity of our laws have any personal impact on you or cause social consequences to our community at large?
• In your opinion are these impacts beneficial or not?
• And once again, how and why do You think the law is important to business?
