The College Algebra Corequisite textbook contains seventeen modules—roughly one module per week for a sixteen-week semester. If you need to modify the pace and cover the material more quickly, the following modules work well together:
- Module 1: Algebra Essentials and Module 2: Polynomial and Rational Expression. Both are lighter, introductory modules.
- Module 3: The Rectangular Coordinate System and Equations of Lines and Module 4: Equations and Inequalities. Topics and methods covered in both modules are similar enough to allow for some overlap.
- Module 16: Sequences and Series and Module 17: Probability and Counting Principles can be combined with any module. You can also move them around without losing anything, however they could interrupt the flow of the other concepts from module to module.
We recommend NOT doubling up the following modules, because they are long and especially challenging. Students will need more time for mastery and completion of assignments.
- Module 10: Rational and Radical Functions
- Module 11: Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
- Module 12: Exponential and Logarithmic Equations and Models
- Module 13: Systems of Equations and Inequalities
