Learning Objectives
- Describe how the Study Plan changes and gives feedback after completing the Show What You Know pretest
Show What You Know
You probably already took it at the beginning of Study Plan, so you know that the Show What You Know is an ungraded pretest at the beginning of each module. It previews what you’re going to learn and it provides immediate feedback on what you may know already.
Study Tip: Use the SWYK to Prep for the Quiz
While the Show What You Knows are designed to help you gauge your prior knowledge and show you where to focus in the Study Plan, they can also be used for review. They are practice assessments that can be taken as many times as you like. Because the Show What You Know asks questions from the whole Study Plan, it makes for a great pre-quiz review.
After completing the Show What You Know, you will see areas that are either “On track” or “Needs work.” This feedback can help to guide you on where to focus your time studying. You should still complete the tiles that indicate you are on track, though you may be able to move more quickly through the content that you already know. This type of feedback contributes to your metacognition, or your ability to reflect on your own learning. These slides below show the Show What You Know pretest and how the tiles update depending on your score.
