Do fieldwork and write up a \u201cthick description\u201d of your experience.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-block\">\r\n<div class=\"textbox learning-objectives\">\r\n<h3>Objective<\/h3>\r\nExperience more, experience difference, and experience differently \u2013 to practice using communication, empathy, and thoughtfulness to really experience the world from a different cultural position.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-block\">\r\n<p class=\"alignment-block-content alignment-block-content-left\">1. Stretch yourself to experience a different cultural or subcultural reality. For example, if you are atheist, go to church. If you are Christian, go to a Buddhist retreat. In short, do something you would probably never otherwise do and open yourself up to the experience.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-block\">\r\n<p class=\"alignment-block-content alignment-block-content-left\">2. After the event, write up a \u201cthick description\u201d of your experience.
