Data are collected to assess various health behaviors such as physical activity, diet and alcohol consumption. For example, the Centers for Disease Control collect state data about U.S. residents regarding their health-related risk behaviors by using a powerful tool, the BRFSS. The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System is the nation’s premier system of health-related telephone surveys that collect behavioral health risk data at the state and local level (Centers for Disease Control, 2014). The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) assess the health and nutritional status of adults and children. The National Survey on Drug Use and Health collects data on the level and patterns of substance use. (National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 2016).
