Do you believe that the Constitution fulfills its mission to “form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity”? If so, how has it accomplished this goal? If not, how could it be changed in order to accomplish this goal?
  2. Choose one of the first ten amendments (The Bill of Rights) that you believe to be controversial in contemporary America and briefly summarize the nature of the controversy. Based on what you have learned over the past few weeks, how do you think the original drafters of the Constitution might respond to the controversy you have identified?
  3. Which amendment do you find particularly confusing or surprising? Describe the nature of your confusion or your surprise.
  4. If you could propose a new amendment to the Constitution, what would you propose and why?
