You need to give credit to:\r\n\r\n<img class=\"size-medium wp-image-1761 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/courses-images\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4022\/2019\/02\/20172814\/117-300x185.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"185\" \/>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Words or ideas presented in a magazine, book, newspaper, song, TV program, movie, web page, computer program, letter, advertisement, presentation, or any other medium<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Information you gain through interviewing or conversing with another person face-to-face, over the phone, or in writing<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Exact words or a unique phrase that you quote<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Diagrams, illustrations, charts, pictures, or other visual materials that you reuse<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Electronic media, including images, audio, video, or other media, that you reuse or repost<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nImportant: You must cite any source of information you use in your communication that doesn\u2019t originate with you.\r\n\r\nOn the other hand, you do <strong>NOT<\/strong> need to cite:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>your own ideas and opinions<\/li>\r\n \t<li>your own words<\/li>\r\n \t<li>common knowledge<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nExamples of common knowledge include:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Basic facts: there are 365 days in a year, the earth orbits the sun, the molecular structure of water (H<sub>2<\/sub>O), etc.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Very well-known quotes: \u201cA rose by any other name would smell as sweet\u201d or \u201cAsk not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.\u201d You still have to use quotation marks and indicate who said the quote (Romeo in Shakespeare\u2019s Romeo and Juliet, and John F. Kennedy, respectively), but you do not need to include the source in your end list of sources.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Subject-specific common knowledge: There is information in specific disciplines or branches of knowledge that is considered common knowledge. A good indicator of what constitutes common knowledge is if you see the information in 4 or 5 articles or books and it does not need a citation.
