There are four basic policies related directly to educational planning:

1. An overall Policy on Educational Planning Studies discusses the philosophy behind the course requirement and details related to the course itself.
2. A policy on Individualized Program Design: Bachelor’s Degrees discusses both overall expectations for bachelor’s degrees as well as specific considerations for bachelor’s-level study, such as types of bachelor’s degrees, advanced-level study, and concentration titles.
3. A policy on Individualized Program Design: Associate Degrees discusses educational objectives of associate degrees, types of associate degrees, and degree program titles and design.
4. A policy on Individualized Prior Learning Assessment discusses policies for requesting and documenting knowledge and skills gained on your own in order to receive college credit for that knowledge.

Read the policies that best apply to your situation.  It’s okay if you don’t quite grasp every policy nuance at once; this is what you’ll be learning in your educational planning course.  But you should read relevant policies and know that they are there, as they may raise important ideas and questions as you plan your degree.
