APA Style of Documentation Guidelines<\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

  1. You must document all information that you use from any source regardless\u00a0of how you report the information.<\/li>\r\n\t
  2. By documenting sources of information, you respect the recorded ideas,\u00a0or intellectual property, of others.<\/li>\r\n\t
  3. Research writers use a specific format to indicate from where they obtained\u00a0their information. These formats are called styles of documentation.<\/li>\r\n\t
  4. Two types of documentation styles are MLA, which is the Modern\u00a0Language Association, and APA, which is the American Psychological Association.<\/li>\r\n\t
  5. Technical writers use the APA style of documentation.<\/li>\r\n\t
  6. The APA style of documentation requires that the entire paper is doubled spaced.<\/li>\r\n\t
  7. The APA style of documentation requires that the page with references is titled\u00a0as \"References,\" not \"Works Cited.\"<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\u00a0<\/span>Referencing in-text citations<\/span><\/b>\r\n
      \r\n\t
    1. Parenthetical documentation for APA requires the author and the date\u00a0for all information cited. Every sentence in the research section needs a reference to its source, followed by it date of publication.<\/li>\r\n\t
    2. If a direct quotation is cited, APA in-text citation\/parenthetical\u00a0documentation requires the author, the date, and page number or paragraph\u00a0number must be cited.\u00a0<\/span>Paragraph numbers are cited for internet sources. The\u00a0<\/span>exception to this rule is citing pdf documents. Page numbers are referenced for sources published as pdf files.<\/li>\r\n\t
    3. When referencing a page number, the number must be identified as a page,\u00a0for one page (p. 24) or as pp. for multiple pages. (pp. 24-30).<\/li>\r\n\t
    4. When referencing a paragraph number, the number must be identified as a paragraph, for one paragraph (\u00b6 4) or as\u00a0(\u00b6 4-7), for multiple paragraphs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t
