Now, I don’t mean by that title that you should be defensive and assume everyone is out to get you. I mean that just as you think of yourself as a defensive driver and try to anticipate and avoid all the problems traffic can create for you, think of communicating in the same way. Communicating is a complicated process with lots of barriers to overcome. Successful communicators know this and go into the communication process alert, aware and work at avoiding as many barriers as possible.
Take this fun quiz and see how you rate as a professional communicator.
The following short quiz consists of 4 questions and will tell you whether you are qualified to be
a “professional.”
Scroll down for each answer. The questions are NOT
that difficult. Try not to look at the answers below
until you have thought about it awhile.

Did you say, “Open the refrigerator, put in the

tests your ability to think through the
repercussions of your previous actions.
3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All

refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests
your memory. OK, even if you did not answer the first
three questions correctly, you still have one more
chance to show your true abilities.

you learn quickly from your mistakes.
According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong. But many preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four year old.
