I needed to go over some of the information with Bill on my team, and he showed up late again. As a result, my monthly review did not go very well.\u201d\r\n\r\nSam asks, \u201cIs this the first time Bill has been late?\u201d Carol responds, \u201cNo, it\u2019s been happening a lot lately. In fact, several individuals on my team are starting to be late more frequently. It seems like they don\u2019t care about getting to work on time.\u201d\r\n\r\n\u201cWell,\u201d Sam pauses before continuing. \u201cIt sounds like the team\u2019s motivation levels are low. You need to do something about that quickly.\u201d\r\n\r\nCarol is concerned and asks Sam, \u201cCan you help me out? I agree this needs to be addressed now.\u201d She and Sam agree to get together soon to brainstorm ideas.\r\n\r\nMotivation is a key factor impacting performance, so it\u2019s an important concept for leaders to grasp.
