Chapter 4: Research

Study Questions:

SQ1 – What are the components of research writing?

SQ2 – How is research conducted and what are some of its forms?

SQ3 – What is the American Psychological Association (APA) style of citation? Why is it important and why do we use it?

Access to information in today’s era is easier than it has ever been. Research by photocopying journal articles and deep diving into the physical stakes of library books that are compiled by author name are something almost for the past. Our researching skills, while easier, have their own challenges such as accessing information that is considered credible and relevant.

Within this module, students’ will learn what is considered research, how to conduct it, how to find and narrow a topic down, find specific key points, and an APA format introduction. These factors will be adapted into students’ own experiences researching for class projects and speeches.
