Bingo needs to go on a special diet, and finding his new food will require an understanding of percents.

Karen noticed her black lab, Bingo, wasn’t feeling well. He wouldn’t eat his dinner for several nights in a row, and he didn’t want to play. So Karen took him to the vet, where she learned that Bingo has a digestive condition that requires a special diet. The vet told her that 25% of his diet must be protein. Now Karen needs to calculate whether a certain brand of dog food has a suitable protein content. To figure this out, she’ll need to be able to solve basic percent equations. Read on to find out more about working with percents.
