Though the dying Federalists would fade\u00a0from political relevance, a schism within the Republican Party would give rise to a new brand of\u00a0Jacksonian Democrats. Meanwhile, despite the virtually total elimination of property requirements for voting, political limits\u00a0continued\u00a0along class, gender, and racial and ethnic lines. At the same time, industrialization and the development of American capitalism required new\u00a0justifications of inequality as compatible with a democratic nation and nativitist reactions to changing demographics would\u00a0parcel \u201ctrue\u201d Americans from dangerous or undeserving \u201cothers.\u201d Still, a\u00a0cacophony of voices clamored to be heard and and struggled to realize a social order\u00a0compatible with the ideals of equality and individual liberty.
