TRANSFER PLANNING
Although you are only in your first semester here at WCC, it is not too early to begin to plan for transfer! The Office of Transfer Services can assist you with creating a Transfer Success Plan that meets your academic goals and maximizes your transfer potential. We are your primary resource for transfer planning and offer a wide range of services and information on the various opportunities available at four-year institutions. Although you won’t be completing your applications just yet, it’s important to know what your intended colleges or universities expect from their transfer students so you can plan accordingly.

There are certain steps you need to take to prepare to transfer to a four-year college or university. These steps need to begin your first semester at WCC in order to be fully prepared to move on to your next campus. The Semester-by-Semester Planning Worksheet below details each of these important steps, starting with your first semester.
First Semester: Search
- Investigate Interests and Career Goals
- Make an appointment with Career Services to explore career interests
- Make an Appointment to Meet a Transfer Counselor
- Confirm you are in the appropriate degree program
- Discuss your transfer plans and map out coursework
- Explore articulation agreements and pathways
- Check the Transfer Services Web Page for Events, Workshops and Colleges on Campus
Second Semester: Select
- Continue College Search
- Select 3-5 colleges that match your goals and needs
- Research scholarship opportunities
- Visit Colleges on your List
- Make your Second Appointment with a Transfer Counselor
- Discuss which credits will transfer
- Discuss deadlines and application materials; plan to apply early
Third Semester: Secure
- Complete Applications
- Attend application assistance workshops
- Request letters of recommendation
- Request Transcripts from the Registrar
Final Semester: Succeed
- Apply for Graduation through MyWCC
- Evaluate Acceptance Letters and Offers
- Review scholarship awards
- Stay on top of deposit deadlines, registration and required materials
- Apply for Financial Aid; FAFSA
- Choose your campus and Enroll
- Submit Final Transcripts
- Attend Orientation
