1. Research cross-cultural differences regarding number formatting and time formatting.

2. Research cross-cultural differences regarding currency, weights/measurements, and paper size.

3. Write a 200 word report (use a technical format) defining and giving examples of cross cultural differences regarding number formatting, time formatting, currency, weights/measurements, and paper size.

Assignment #1

Content word count is at least 200 words.  

20 out of 100

Content includes all 5 items.  Each item is 6 points. Each definition and example of each item is worth 3 points.  

30 points.

Content is written in an easily accessed technical format, using bold headings, sub headings, markers, chunking, and white space.

Assignment #2

Find a website and analyze the site for the design elements, according to the Web Sites module contents.

First, summarize the website, according to at least 4 different elements in the design. For example, how are the elements arranged for reader scanning; how are headings, subheadings, and markers presented; what and how are visuals used; how is cross-cultural communication addressed, etc.

Second, analyze the website. Comment on the effectiveness of each of the elements mentioned in the summary. How could the design be revised for a more effective access to information? Reference your comments to the specific information in the readings.

Create a website design of 2 or more pages:

  1. Identify the purpose of your website.
  2. Identify the objectives.
  3. Explain how you will address the objectives.
  4. Define your audience.
  5. Draft a copy of the website’s design, focusing on the Unit’s lecture and Readings. Consider reading and viewing the supplemental files.
  6. Design the website.

(Note:  You do not need to create an actual website.  You only need to create and submit a website design.)

7. Assess the reading level of your website.  Find a free site that evaluates the reading level of a document.  Submit your website to the site and write the reading level of the your website on the top right corner of you assignment.  Do not identify the site on your assignment. Instead, e-mail me the site’s http.
