2.6 Reading Another Contemporary Illustration Essay

Both of these illustration essays are posted on The Odyssey online, a site for “young millenials” that posts content written by and for college students around the country.

As a reader you already know the audience these essays are targeting (your age group) and the topics they cover (topics of interest to your demographic).

Notice how both of these essays begin with an introduction that is similar to a narrative essay — they relate personal experiences, but very quickly they morph into illustration.

As you read, make note of the differences between these and the narrative essays you read for Chapter 1. Notice also how these essays avoid being just lists.
