In this lesson, you will see other verbs that work like <span class=\"foreign\">gustar<\/span> and will use them both with infinitives and with things or ideas. As you have seen, when you use <span class=\"foreign\">gustar<\/span> with an infinitive, you always use <span class=\"foreign\">gusta\u2014<\/span>the third person singular of the verb; what changes is the indirect object pronoun\u2014the <span class=\"foreign\">me<\/span>, <span class=\"foreign\">te<\/span>, <span class=\"foreign\">le<\/span>, <span class=\"foreign\">nos<\/span>, <span class=\"foreign\">os<\/span>, or <span class=\"foreign\">les<\/span>, depending on whom is being pleased or displeased. When you do this, you need to remember two things. First, just like with an infinitive, you use the indirect object pronoun according to the person or people being pleased\/fascinated\/bothered. Secondly, you need to remember the verb ending. If the thing that is pleasing is singular, you will use the third person singular ending of the verb; if it is plural, you will use the third person plural ending of the verb. When you do this, you need to remember two things. First, just like with an infinitive, you use the indirect object pronoun according to the person or people being pleased\/fascinated\/bothered. Secondly, you need to remember the verb ending. If the thing that is pleasing is singular, you will use the third person singular ending of the verb; if it is plural, you will use the third person plural ending of the verb.
