Authors<\/strong><\/h1>\r\n\"PhotoDr. Hazel McKenna<\/strong> is a professor in the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University where she has been teaching since 1988. She has a Ph.D. in Instructional Science with an emphasis in educational measurement and evaluation, along with minors in Mathematics and Statistics. Hazel also earned a M.S. in Mathematics and Statistics. Her research interests lie in the areas of equity in the teaching of mathematics<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0understanding student reasoning in mathematics<\/em>. Originally from Scotland, Hazel can usually be found on the golf course or up in the mountains with her Shetland Sheepdog. She can be reached at hazel.mckenna@uvu.edu<\/a>.\r\n\r\n\"PhotoDr. Kuo-Liang (Leo)<\/strong> Chang<\/strong> is a professor\u00a0in the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University where he has been teaching since 2011. He has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics education. His research focuses on the flexibility and originality in mathematical reasoning, and true problem solving.
