Photo of Hazel McKennaDr. Hazel McKenna is a professor in the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University where she has been teaching since 1988. She has a Ph.D. in Instructional Science with an emphasis in educational measurement and evaluation, along with minors in Mathematics and Statistics. Hazel also earned a M.S. in Mathematics and Statistics. Her research interests lie in the areas of equity in the teaching of mathematics and understanding student reasoning in mathematics. Originally from Scotland, Hazel can usually be found on the golf course or up in the mountains with her Shetland Sheepdog. She can be reached at hazel.mckenna@uvu.edu.

Photo of Leo ChangDr. Kuo-Liang (Leo) Chang is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University where he has been teaching since 2011. He has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics education. He also earned a M.S. in Applied Mathematics. He is originally from Tawain. Roxanne HeadshotRoxanne Brinkerhoff is a professor in the Department of Mathematical and Quantitative Reasoning at Utah Valley University where she has been teaching since 2008. She has a M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Utah. Her research interests include alleviating math anxiety using both classroom and curricular initiatives, and providing new course technologies that aid in learning. He has a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a masters degree in Mathematics with a Statistics emphasis from Northern Arizona University.  He has 35 years of teaching experience with the last 30 years at Utah Valley University.
