She has a Ph.D. in Instructional Science with an emphasis in educational measurement and evaluation, along with minors in Mathematics and Statistics. Hazel also earned a M.S. in Mathematics and Statistics. Her research interests lie in the areas of <em>equity in the teaching of mathematics<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>understanding student reasoning in mathematics<\/em>. Originally from Scotland, Hazel can usually be found on the golf course or up in the mountains with her Shetland Sheepdog.
