It’s not necessary to watch the entire video. To the right of the video itself are links that enable you to jump to particular points in the lecture called “Lecture Chapters.” I suggest starting at the 2nd link (Beats and Meters). He’ll take you through the basic building blocks of rhythm and then gets into how you can hear meter in a piece of music.
